Morgenthau plan was a proposal to make Germany not to get into war again and their arms industry was removed and also other important industries which they worked with.

The Marshal plan aimed at recovery of Germany economically and this was done by being supported by the Americans which enabled them to rebuild their economy. This helped in the rebuilding of war-destroyed areas, removing trade barriers and preventing the spread of communism. While on the other side Morgenthau plan aimed at the economic destruction of Germany and raised undesirable measures towards Germany. This is by forcing Germany into deindustrialization and hurting the Germans without personal guilty. Morgenthau plan forced institutions into failure and agricultural outcomes declined.

Marshal plan was named after Secretary of state George Marshall in 1947 while Morgenthau plan was named after Treasury Secretary Henry Morgenthau, Jr. Contrary; Morgenthau plan had some influence on the allied planning of capturing Germany although it wasn’t adopted. According to Morgenthau plan, Germany was to be divided into two states i.e. northern and southern region and its industry possessed by neighboring countries and its heavy industries destroyed.

Morgenthau plan operated on Germany post -World War I and due to his effects on low income countries and more wealth and success to high income states which resulted to rising gaps and division between nations making Europe to be left in a bad economic state and this made United States to implement Marshal plan in order to strengthen Western Europe to regain its status.

The Marshall plan gave twenty million dollars to Europe and Germany for economic growth and this made western allies to begin cutting down the destruction of Germany industries although they encountered resistance from France and allowed them to trade with other countries.

Moreover, a buildup Europe would also benefit the United States by purchasing the American Factory and farm harvests. It also agreed to support West Germany during the cold war. Therefore, Marshall Plan became successful leading to a period of strong economic growth in Western Europe from 1952 where economies of Europe were coordinated to a single efficient unit.

The United States implemented the Marshall plan in order to save Europe from the bad economic state it was facing. The Second World War had ruined much of Europe, destroying infrastructure, industries, and economy. Britain, France, and Germany being the biggest economic powers in Europe had been destroyed and unable to conduct trade with other countries. And due to United States interest to benefit from Europe economy made them implement the plan.

Fear of spread of communism in Europe made the United States implement Marshal Plan. This is because economic support from the USA would help to fight against hunger, poverty, hopelessness, and chaos which is factors contributing to violate situations in Europe. It also wanted to control spread of communism in other parts of Europe because Eastern Europe had turned communist into Soviet possession. Also, the Marshal plan contributed to the cold war.

Agricultural yields had declined a lot due to the war and this made the United States implement the marshal plan because they were both affected. It also acted as a conventional mean of saving Europe from such crisis.

Marshal plan was an act of compassion by Americans as the USA was interested in the return of a stable Europe capable of trading internationally. This is because after several years of economic war the USA returned to ordinary citizens and wanted to come out of that state in order to increase markets for American goods in which they needed Europe to participate in international trade.

Implementation of marshal plan promoted cooperation among Western European countries which laid a solid foundation for European countries unification. Marshall Plan also aided Europe and Germany by giving them twenty million dollars in order to rebuild their economy. By doing so the United States and European countries established good relations and it was difficult for Germans to fall in control of Nazi regime. The United States also offered aid to all European countries that were ruined by war.

The Marshall plan also helped to stop the spread of communism in Europe and to eradicate conditions that led to communism in Europe. This was achieved by offering food, money, machinery and technical help to Germans which made them value each other and avoid engaging in war with the Nazi regime. In this case, American’s engineers came to Europe for advice and provide technical support to the industries.

The Marshall plan was able to repair Europe and make it the central heart of business it was before the post-war. By doing that they were able to drive the Nazi away and become one unified state. The United States traded internationally with European countries and was able to find markets for their goods and in return, the European would buy American Goods and allow US companies to invest in their businesses. This enabled the United States to become greatest financing power because of recovery of Europe.

By implementing the Marshall plan helped the United States to enjoy free communism world and also to act as an example to other countries that may be facing communism. This has made the US do business over the world. The Marshal plan enabled United States to support West Germany people during the cold war by supplying food to the needy which at last contributed towards the renewal of new nations in which the US was to do business with. Marshal plan helped to bring light to the world through American image created by the Marshall incorporated policies and goals towards the American officers. This is because they showed compassion to European countries which is considered as an act of good faith today.
