1. Introduction The Future Fuels Cooperative Research Centre, known as FFCRC is a social enterprise in the energy sector. Social enterprises are entities that possess specific social objectives to serve a primary purpose. These enterprises provide goods and services to its consumers with an aim to provide benefits to the society and community through its business processes (Defourny & Nyssens, 2010). With the increasing relevance of decarbonisation to combat climate change and global warming in the 21st century, FFCRC serves as an industry focussed Research, Development and Demonstration (RD&D) partnership with a primary objective of enabling the decarbonisation of Australia’s energy networks. (FFCRC, 2021). FFCRC serves to be a bridge between the energy industry, academia and government organisations to develop and advance the ecosystem of low-carbon future fuels such as hydrogen and biogas in Australia and other parts of the world.
