International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Management System Standards Certification
ABSTRACT: Many companies and organizations decide to get certified to one of ISO’s management
system standards (MSS), such as ISO 9001. This is a way of showing outsiders that the organization
has an effective quality management system in place. In addition to ISO 9001, organizations may
choose to go after additional ISO MSS certifications that are more specific to its business sector or
relevant to the organizations strategic goals and objectives. An organization must select which
certifications provide the most value to the organization and other stakeholders.

ASSIGNMENT
Select an organization (either current place of employment or an organization in a business
sector that is of interest to you and that you can research). The selected organization should
have a strategic plan in place that includes some form of a mission, vision, goals and or
objectives. Based on the selected organization, select 3 ISO MSS to be certified to (1 must be
ISO 9001) and prepare an analysis of how these certifications support the strategic plan of the
organization and other benefits presented to the company. (this analysis should be detailed
and exhibit direct links to the organizations strategic plan, do not just list benefits without an
explanation of the impact on the company).
In addition, select an organization to provide the external audit and certification of the selected
company. Describe in detail why you selected the certifying organization. Present at least 3
reasons that directly support this decision.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Electronic Word File.
Double Spaced, Times New Roman Font, 12 Point.
Minimum: Four Pages in length (include graphics/figures/tables, but excessively large items
should be placed in an appendix, also the inclusion of lengthy bulleted lists will not count
towards the required report length).
