For this project, students are required to research the IRB and detail the important factors for the ethical protection of research participants. For this project, students will identify and discuss what an IRB is and the three types of IRB review. Students will also briefly identify a plan to evaluate a program or intervention. After the program/intervention is identified, students will identify the type of IRB review that would be necessary. The students will also discuss the use of special/vulnerable populations and identify the ethical issues involved with the use of a special/vulnerable population. The project should conclude with a discussion of the ramifications of not following ethical standards and the use of an IRB review. Students should review the ethical standards in the Code of Ethics for the National Organization for Human Services. www.nationalhumanservices.org Students should also consider Saint Leo’s core values of Integrity and Community and how they relate to this project.
The paper should be typed, double spaced, and utilize APA style referencing. Use of the text and 2 outside resources is required. 6-7 pages.
