With another classmate, conduct a science activity with a group of pre kindergarteners. For example, compare how sand and water flow through sieves. This helps children extend the concept of flow to dry as well as to wet. This also reinforces the scientific method of investigation. While one adult is involved with the children, the other should take photos of the activity and record what the children are doing and saying. For the children who are interested, follow up with further investigation on the Internet. Afterward, evaluate the activity. Were the children actively involved? What should stay the same? What should change? How would the activity change if planned for a group of toddlers?
