This semester I would like for you to choose an industry that is at least international in nature if not totally global. It must be in the U. S. and in South Africa. I want you to trace the trajectory of the social and political structure in South Africa from just before Nelson Mandela to the present – in terms of inclusiveness in the government, inclusiveness in business of all races
Now under the present conditions in South Africa, – choose an industry and within that industry – a company. How much should an international company become involved in the politics and the society of a host country? Should your firm work to make your company inclusive and if you do – what happens? If you do not – what happens to you in the other countries in which you do business – do your other customers boycott you?
